While it was previously reported the pit lane speed limit in Australia would be reduced, this will not be the case.
The FIA has confirmed that the pit lane speed limit for the Australian Grand Prix will not be reduced this year, despite earlier reports suggesting a change.
The alleged plan to reduce the speed limit from 80 km/h to 60 km/h to accommodate extra congestion due to Cadillac joining as an 11th team has been debunked by the FIA.
Chief events officer Tom Mottram had mentioned the proposed change, hoping it would be a one-time adjustment.
Maintaining the speed limit at 80 km/h will avoid major strategy shifts during the race, preventing longer pit stops for additional trips.
